Learning through experience
Would you send it?
A clinician’s note, and an AI summary of it. Tap the words the AI added that aren’t in the source.
Lantus 20 units normally. Reduce to 18 units on football days.
Where did “before football” come from? Nowhere.
The numbers were right. The meaning wasn’t.
Every figure survived. The instruction didn’t. “On football days” and “before football” are different advice, and a patient would act on the second. This is the habit CI teaches: check every AI draft for what was added, what was removed, whether the meaning shifted, and whether it now sounds more certain than the source.
This is how we think learning should feel: practical, active and built around judgement.
Clinically Intelligent is a clinician-led initiative exploring better ways to learn and work in healthcare. This exercise comes from our live teaching with NHS clinical teams.
Composite example from a CI workshop. Not clinical advice. Never put patient identifiable information into an AI tool. If you are ever unsure ask your IG lead before you upload anything.
